Slimline Single Skin Tanks
Choose from a range of high quality slimline single skin oil tanks that are ideal for the safe storage of heating oil in areas where space is limited. Slimline tanks are also suitable for commercial use and can be used for various fuels ranging from oil and diesel to kerosene.
Advantages of Slimline Oil Tanks
For properties that rely on heating oil, slimline single skin tanks are able to fit into smaller spaces than other types of heating oil tanks which means they’re a great choice when outdoor space is limited. And being slimmer in size means these tanks offer discreet storage for fuel, making them less conspicuous in a garden or outdoor area. We stock an excellent choice of steel and plastic tanks with capacities ranging from approximately 650 litres to 1,350 litres.
But being smaller doesn’t mean compromising on quality and all of our slimline models are manufactured to the same high standards as our regular sized tanks. Our plastic, medium-density polyethylene tanks are suitable for storing diesel, kerosene and oils, including hydrogenated vegetable oil. Some of our slimline steel tanks can also store biodiesel. Steel tanks have strong, welded seams while moulded plastic tanks are seam free.
Slimline Single Skin Tanks & Safety Regulations
For residential use, oil tanks need to be bunded if their capacity is more than 2500 litres. For those needing more capacity, we supply a range of slimline bunded oil tanks which offer additional protection against spills and leaks.
Some residential and business users find a large slimline tank is preferable to a traditional design to help them adhere to safety regulations. For instance, when storing oil and related fuels the storage site must have a minimum clearance of 1.8 metres, which means slimline tanks are often a convenient way to ensure compliance when positioning tanks in tighter spaces.
Features of Single Skin Slimline Tanks
Whether manufactured from steel or polyethylene, our range of slimline single skin tanks share similar features. Both are made from high-quality materials, and features generally include easily accessible fill points with securely chained caps.
Slimline tanks with overfill protection valves ensure there are no accidental spillages caused by adding too much fuel. Bottom outlets are usually fitted with an isolation valve for optimal oil containment when dispensing fuel. Floating clock gauges are a common feature for checking the level of fuel in the tank. Many slimline single skin tanks can also be used with computerised alarms that warn of falling fuel levels.
